Charlie Norfolk

Moving from London to Dorset when she married Charlie in the 80's, Lucy humorously describes her transition from townie bride to farmer's wife. She grapples with the trials of rural life and gives a witty portrait of the British countryside.

When her mum is taken into hospital, Pearl goes to live with a foster family. All Pearl really wants is to be back with her mum on their narrow boat. When her mum runs away from the hospital, Pearl knows she must go back to the boat to find her.

In 1946 writer Juliet Ashton receives a letter from a man in Guernsey who has found her name in a book. They start to exchange letters and she is intrigued by his stories of the eccentric literary society to which he belongs. Captivated she visits Guernsey, and what she finds will change her forever.
