Hans Hellmut Kirst

In 1944 three German generals are suspected of involvement in the murder of a prostitute in Warsaw but the case folds. In 1944 a similar crime happens in Paris implicating the generals, but investigations are halted by the coup against Hitler. When a third murder occurs in Dresden in 1956 it is apparent that the killer must be caught.
