Ronan Bennett

Set in England in the 1630's. John Brigge a respected local coroner prefers to spend his time with his family and working on his farm. He is called to investigate Katherine Shay, suspected of killing her baby. The investigation becomes a vicious power struggle as the Puritans demand her execution.
