Howard Spring

Set in the depression–hit north west of England in the early 1930’s the story centres around the bohemian lifestyle of creative people, with glimpses into the lives of the rich and fashionable.

A fortunate and unexpected inheritance gives an ordinary and unassuming bank clerk with reclusive tendencies a chance to make all his dreams come true. Roger Menheniot abandons wartime London to buy Rosemellian, his Cornish ancestral home. But soon Roger is forced to reassess his whole way of life and his attitudes towards others in a journey of self-discovery and revelation.
