Bill Naughton

Nelson is the one-eyed canine companion of Bill and Noggy and he acts as their guardian, accompanying them to the cinema and theatre. When his real owner, Uncle Gus, returns from sea, Nelson becomes the proud drinking companion of his master, which leads to the ensnaring of Uncle Gus by the officious local spinster.

Spadger and Bill grow up in a Lancashire mining town in the 1920s , but fate does not mean them to work together. A very funny book about the friendship between two boys.
