When the author buys a run down Ligurian olive farm the locals are baffled. As the 'Foreign Females' struggle with their farm, the olive farmers of Diano San Pietro are on hand with old-fashioned advice and help.

Sequel to 'Ripe for the picking' (6417). Having heard many stories from Ciccio about his Calabrian homeland, Annie, Ciccio and various members of the de Gilios clan are off to Calabria to see the ancestral home, and meet the extended family.

Sequel to 'Extra Virgin' (5822). Annie Hawes is the proud owner of an olive farm, and whilst she isn't quite as baffled by Ligurian life as when she first arrived, she does wonder when it will start to become normal.

Annie Hawes leaves her home in the olive groves of Italy and sets off along the south coast of the Mediterranean. She is aiming to track down a small oasis town deep in the Sahara, some of whose generous inhabitants came to her rescue on a black day in her adolescence.
