Roy Moxham

In 1995 the author bought a second-hand book which started his obsessive quest to discover the 2,600 mile long Great Hedge of India, built by the British Raj as a customs barrier and later forgotten.

In 1960 the author began work managing a 500-acre tea plantation in Nyasaland. This experience led him to investigate the history of tea, a tale which reflects badly on the British Empire.
