London is in chaos after a comet narrowly misses the Earth. Tersias, a blind boy who predicted the comet and can see the future, is attracting attention from several quarters: there’s Jonah, the teenage highwayman; crazy Solomon, who has bred a giant flesh-eating locust; and the keeper of mysterious powers, Lord Malpas.
