Grandma Dowdel

The visit to Grandma Dowdel and her sleepy town doesn't look very exciting, but Joey and Mary Alice soon realise they are wrong. Grandma is a formidable old lady who teaches them all about having fun!

In 1937 Mary Alice is sent from Chicago to spend a year in the country with scary Grandma Dowdel. She soon becomes Grandma's partner in crime as they help out their friends and take care of their enemies. Gradually Mary Alice realises she has more in common with Grandma than she thought.
