leaving of Liverpool

On a cold winter night two sisters leave their home in Ireland to escape their abusive father. Their plan is to sail to Liverpool and from there to New York, but fate intervenes. The girls are separated, one stranded in Liverpool, and the other at the mercy of strangers in America.
