The Empty Chair

Criminalist Lincoln Rhyme is in North Carolina preparing to have experimental spinal surgery that could give him back a little movement. Before the operation takes place he and Amelia Sachs are asked to use their skills to trace two women who have been kidnapped by a psychotic young man known as the Insect Boy.
